HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN PENDIDIKAN IBU HAMIL TENTANG PEMBERIAN IMUNISASI TETANUS TOKSOID (TT) DI PUSKESMAS DEMPO PALEMBANG TAHUN 2017

Abstract

Tetanus toksoid immunization is a process to build up immunity as the prevention of tetanus infection. The benefits of TT immunization on pregnant women are to procect newborn babies from neonatal tetanus that can lead to death and to protect the mothers from the possibility of tetanus when injured. According to World Health Organization (WHO), the number of incidences of neonatal tetanus infectionts in 2016 reached 14%. This research aimed to investigate whether there was a relationship of knowledge and educational level towards the TT immunization in Puskesmas Dempo Palembang in 2017.it was an analytical survey with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used accidental sampling. Samples of this study were all pregnant women administered with TT injection in Puskesmas Dempo Palembang in 2017, as many as 30 respondents. From result of research resu of bivariate were obtained p value 0,01 < α = 0.05 there is a significant relationship between knowledge with TT immunization as much as 21 respondents (70.0%),more that the respondents who did not get TT vaccine which was nine respondents (30.0%). The respondents who had highknowledge were 15 respondents (50.0%) and the less well informend are as much 15 respondents (50.0%) mothers who have a higher education is as much 17 respondents (56.7%), which were more that that the number of highly educated respondents as many as 13 (43.3%).  From the result of statistic test with chi-square, it was obtained that p value=0.00 < α = 0.05. so Ho is received, this show that there is a significant relationship between education TT immunization in Puskesmas Dempo Palembang in 2017.  Is expected to health workers especially midwives who work at Puskesmas Dempo Palembang in 2017 to further improve about TT immunization in pregnant women.
