Abstract

Complementary feeding practice have a direct impact on nutritional status. The age of 6 months babies should be introduced to complementary foods. Currently there are still many parents who provide complementary feeding earlier is less than 6 months. This research aims to know the correlation between the age to introduce complementary food firstly with nutritional status of 0-12 months old babies at Karangjati Village, Bergas District, Semarang Regency. The study design was analytic with cross sectional approach. The population was 99 babies with the samples of 73 babies using simple random sampling. The research was done at Karangjati village, Bergas District, Semarang regency. The data used primary data and secondary data. Analyses by using Kendall Tau test. The age to give complementary food firstly for a baby is mostly early of 52 babies (71.2%). The nutritional status of the babies is mostly normal of 59 babies (80.8%). There is a correlation between the age to give complementary food firstly with the nutritional status of 0-12 months babies at Karangjati village, Bergas District, Semarang regency (P = 0.018) with the closeness correlation which is weak (r = -0.259). The correlation between the age to introduce complementary food firstly with nutritional status of 0-12 months old babies at Karangjati village, Bergas district, Semarang regency.
