HUBUNGAN PENDIDIKAN DAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TERHADAP PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DI PUSKESMAS SOBOKINGKING PALEMBANG TAHUN 2018
Abstract
Exelusive breastfeeding or more precisely breasrfeeding exclusively is only given breast milk for babies, since the age of 30 minutes post-natal (after birh) until the age of 6 months, without the addition of other liquids such as formula milk, fruit juice, water, honey, tea, and without the addition of solid foods such as fruits, biscuits, milk porridge, rice porridge and rice team. The purpose of this study aims to find out the correlation of education, knowledge with exclusive breastfeeding at the Public H ealth Center of Sabokingking Palembang in 2018. This research used an analytical survey method with cross sectionalapproach. The population in this study were all mother of infants aged 7-24 months who came to the Public Health Center of Sabokingking Palembang at time of the study. Obtained a sample of 32 respondents. From the result of the univariate analysis found that mother who gave exclusive breastfeeding were 20 respondents (62.5%), respondents who had high education were 15 respondents (46.9%). And respondents who have good knowledge are 23 respondents (71.9%). From the result of the bivariate analysis found that there was a significant relationship between education and exclusive breastfeeding, and there was a significant relationship between education and exclusive breastfeeding, and there was also a significant relationship between knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding. The mother’s reason not to give exclusively breastfeeding is very varied. Yet the one most commonly found by mother’s breast milk is not enough, mother works with three months leave, afraid of leaving by husband, according to the mother of the baby will grow up to be an independent and spoiled child of only breastfeed. Formula milk is more practical and afraid of the fat body of a mother. Please advise medical personnel working at the Sabokingking Health Center ini Palembang to increase counseling about exclusive breastfeeding for infant.
