HUBUNGAN ANTARA PENGETAHUAN DAN PENDIDIKAN IBU DENGAN PEMBERIAN MP-ASI DINI DI PUSKESMAS PEMBINA PALEMBANG TAHUN 2016
Abstract
The percentage of exclusive breastfeeding for infants in Indonesia in 2013 is 54.3% nationally. From Palembang city health service coverage exclusive breastfeeding in 2012 amounted to 62.6%. Data Riskesdas 2013 prelaktal food types are most widely given to babies under <6 months of formula (79.8%), honey (14.3%), and water (13.2%). The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between knowledge and education of mothers with the provision of early breastfeeding at Pembina Palembang Health Center Year 2015. This study used an analytical survey with cross sectional approach. Population in this research is all mothers who have baby 0-12 month visit to Pembina Palembang Health Center, research sample counted 40 respondents taken by Accidental Sampling. The result of bivariate analysis showed that there was a correlation between mother's knowledge with early infant feeding with ρ value = 0,008, and there was correlation between maternal education with early breastfeeding in infant with ρ value = 0,016. The conclusion of this research is there is a meaningful relationship between mother's knowledge and education with the giving of early breastmilk on baby. Therefore it is expected that health workers to improve health services in their working areas through counseling about the provision of early breastfeeding in order to increase public knowledge about the provision of early breastfeeding.
