HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN PENDAPATAN WANITA PRALANSIA DENGAN UPAYA PENCEGAHAN OSTEOPOROSIS DI BATURAJA TAHUN 2015

Abstract

The prevalence of osteoporosis in the world is still quite high. WHO says that about 200 million people suffer from osteoporosis worldwide. By 2050, it is estimated that the number of hip fractures will increase 2-fold in women and 3-fold in men. The method used in this research is analytical survey method with Cross Sectional approach. The population in this study were all women aged 45-59 years in the working area UPTD Puskesmas Ogan Komering Ulu District 2015 which amounted to 74 people. The sample in this research is taken by Accidental sampling. Data were analyzed by Chi-Square statistic test with α = 0,05. From the result of the research, it was found that the respondents who did the prevention effort of osteoporosis were more the respondents who had good knowledge, 32 respondents (78.0%) and those who did not make the osteoporosis prevention more for the less knowledgeable mothers of 22 people (66, 7%). From the results of statistical analysis obtained p value = 0.001. For income variable, it is found that the respondents who do prevention effort of osteoporosis more on the respondent with high income that is 29 respondents (70,7%) and those who do not do prevention of osteoporosis more on the respondents with low income that is as much as 23 respondents(69 , 7%). From the results of statistical analysis obtained p value = 0.001. The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and income of pre-elderly women with efforts to prevent osteoporosis.
