HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN PENDIDIKAN IBU TENTANG PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DI BPM YUSIDA EDWARD PALEMBANG TAHUN 2018
Abstract
Exclusive breast milk is the feeding of breast milk to the baby for six months without other liquids intake given. According to the ministry of health (2014), Indonesia had the covering of exclusive breast milk for 54,3%. This research aims to find out the relation between mother’s education and knowledge about exclusive breast milk feeding at BPM Yusida Edward Palembang in 2018. The method of this research used cross sectional design and interview by giving some questionnaires. The population for this research was breast milk feeding mothers having 7-12 months old babies who visited BPM Yusida Edward Palembang in 2018. The sample of this research was 32 respondents. The data analyzed used univariat and bivariat method. The result of the research showed that 16 respondents (50,0%) had good knowledge level, 8 respondents (25,0%) had mediocre knowledge level, and 8 respondents (25,0%) had low knowledge level. By seeing bivariat analysis, it showed that there was a relation between mother’s education and knowledge about exclusive breast milk feeding. It was hopeful to health officials to be able to give more information about exclusive breast milk in order the mothers have good knowledge level to exclusive breast milk feeding.
