HUBUNGAN ANTARA PEKERJAAN DAN SIKAP IBU DENGAN PEMBERIAN ASI EKSLUSIF DI BPM YUSIDA EDWARD PALEMBANG TAHUN 2021

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is that babies are only given breast milk, from the age of 30 minutes post natal (after birth) until the age of 6 months, without the addition of other fluids such as: formula milk, fruit juice, water, honey, tea water, and without the addition of solid foods such as fruits, biscuits, milk porridge, rice porridge and team rice. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between work, attitudes and exclusive breastfeeding at BPM Yusida Edward Palembang in 2021. The design of this study was an analytical survey research with a cross sectional approach which is a research design by measuring or observing at the same time between the independent variables. (mother's occupation and attitude) and the dependent variable (exclusive breastfeeding). The population in this study were all mothers who visited BPM Yusida Edward  Palembang in 2021 in November-December totaled 104 and the sample in this study was 37 with the accidental sampling method, the research instrument used a check list. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate with Chi-Squre statistical test. The results of this study indicate that mothers who give exclusive breastfeeding to their babies are 17 (45.9 percent) respondents, working mothers are 23 (62.2 percent) respondents, mothers who have a positive attitude are 19 (51.4 percent) respondents. From the Chi-Squre test statistic that compares the p-value with a significance level of = 0.05, it shows that there is a relationship between mother's work and exclusive breastfeeding with p-value (0.021), and there is a relationship between mother's attitude and exclusive breastfeeding p value (0.008). From this study it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between work and mother's attitude towards exclusive breastfeeding at BPM Yusida Edward Palembang in 2021. Suggestions for health workers are expected to increase efforts to provide exclusive breastfeeding, and provide health promotion to people who visit BPM Yusida Edward. Palembang by conducting health education and monitoring baby development.
