Abstract

Companion Food-Mother’s Milk  is food given and presented to infant over six months of age after having Exclusive Mother’s Milk. The aims of this research to find out the factors that affect giving of early Companion Food-Mother’s Milk at Local Government Clinic of Kenten Palembang Year 2020. Type of this research is quantitative analytic by using cross sectional design. The populations are all mothers who come to KIA room at Local Government Clinic of Kenten Palembang. Sample retrieval using accidentalsampling technique. Frequency distribution of respondents who do not give early Companion Food-Mother’s Milk are 27 respondents, meanwhile gives early Companion Food-Mother’s Milk are 17 respondents. Frequency distribution of respondents who have high education are 33 respondents, poorly educated are 11 respondents. Frequency distribution of well-informed respondents are 15 respondents, unwell-informed respondents are 29 respondents. Frequency distribution of working and paying respondents are 11 respondents, that don’t work are 33 respondents. There is a significant correlation between education and giving early Companion Food-Mother’s Milk at Local Government Clinic of Kenten Palembang year 2019 ρ value = 0,001. There is a significant correlation between knowledge and giving early Companion Food-Mother’s Milk at Local Government Clinic of Kenten Palembang year 2020 ρ value = 0,005. There is a significant correlation between occupation and giving early Companion Food-Mother’s Milk at Local Government Clinic of Kenten Palembang year 2020 ρ value = 0,003. Suggested to Medical Center to give more often counseling about Companion Food-Mother’s Milk. This case supports the progress of the program that related to children and mothers’ health.
